The short version
CourseForFree is a free directory that helps you find courses run by other companies. We do not teach the courses, take your money, or control what the providers do. Use the site reasonably, do not scrape it into a competing product, and understand that the enrolment terms, prices and certificates all come from the provider, not from us.
By using www.courseforfree.com you agree to what follows. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.
What this service is
In plain English
We are a search engine for courses. We are not a school, and we are not a party to whatever agreement you make with a course provider.
We index courses from third-party providers and present information about them: price, level, duration, completion rate and reviews. We take reasonable care that this is accurate and re-verify listings daily, but providers change prices, rename courses and withdraw them without telling us. Always confirm the price and terms on the provider’s own page before enrolling.
When you follow a link out of CourseForFree, you leave our service. What happens next is between you and that provider, governed by their terms and their privacy policy.
Accounts
You do not need an account to search. If you create one, you agree to provide an accurate email address, keep your credentials to yourself, and take responsibility for activity under your account. Tell us promptly if you think it has been compromised.
You must be at least 13 years old (16 in the EEA and UK) to hold an account. You may delete it at any time from your settings.
Acceptable use
Do not:
- Scrape, crawl or bulk-download the index to build a competing directory. Reasonable personal use and standard search-engine crawling are fine.
- Attempt to breach, probe or overload the service, or circumvent rate limits.
- Submit false listings, fake reviews or manipulated completion data.
- Use the service to distribute malware, spam, or unlawful content.
- Misrepresent your affiliation with us or with any provider.
- Remove, obscure or interfere with advertising or attribution.
We may suspend or terminate access for breach. Where the breach is minor and fixable, we will normally tell you first.
Third-party courses and links
Courses are created, sold and delivered by third parties. We do not endorse, guarantee or take responsibility for their content, quality, availability, pricing, refund policy or the validity of any certificate. A high ranking on CourseForFree is our honest assessment, not a warranty.
Disputes about a course — refunds, access problems, certificate issues — must be taken up with the provider. We will help point you to the right place, but we cannot resolve them on your behalf.
Advertising and affiliate disclosure
In plain English
We earn from ads and from some enrolment links. It never costs you more, and it never changes where a course ranks.
Advertising. We display advertising, including through Google AdSense. Advertisements are labelled as such and are kept visually separate from course results. We do not accept advertising that is designed to be mistaken for a course listing.
Affiliate relationships. Some providers pay us a commission when a user enrols through a link on this site. This is disclosed in our footer on every page, as required by the US FTC’s endorsement guidelines and equivalent rules elsewhere. It costs you nothing extra and does not change the price you are offered.
Editorial independence. Ranking is determined solely by the methodology published on our about page. No provider, advertiser or instructor can purchase a ranking position, a badge, or inclusion in a curated collection. Many of our highest-ranked courses generate no revenue for us whatsoever.
Intellectual property
The CourseForFree name, logo, site design, editorial writing, collections and ranking methodology are ours and are protected by copyright and trade mark law. You may link to us freely and quote short extracts with attribution. You may not copy the site’s design or reproduce our editorial content at scale without written permission.
Course titles, descriptions, logos and thumbnails belong to their respective providers and are shown under fair use for the purpose of identification and review. If you are a rights holder with a concern, contact [email protected] and we will respond promptly.
Content you submit
If you submit a review, correction, course suggestion or other content, you keep ownership of it and grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to display and distribute it on the service. You confirm it is your own work and does not infringe anyone else’s rights.
We may remove content that is defamatory, abusive, off-topic, or a manipulation attempt. We will not remove an honest negative review because a provider asked us to.
Availability and changes
We aim to keep the service available but do not promise uninterrupted access. We may change, suspend or discontinue features. If we make a material change to these terms, we will update the date at the top and, for account holders, email you before it takes effect. Continued use after that constitutes acceptance.
Disclaimers
The service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the information is complete or error-free, that any course will meet your expectations, or that taking a course will produce any particular career or educational outcome.
Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties, so parts of this may not apply to you. Nothing here removes rights you have as a consumer under the mandatory law of your country.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, CourseForFree and its team will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, nor for lost profits, lost data or wasted time, arising from your use of the service or from any course you find through it.
Our total aggregate liability arising out of or relating to the service is limited to one hundred US dollars (US$100). We think this is reasonable given the service is free; if you do not, the remedy available to you is to stop using it.
Nothing in these terms excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be excluded.
Termination
You may stop using the service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you breach these terms, if required by law, or if we discontinue the service. Sections that by their nature should survive termination — intellectual property, disclaimers, liability and governing law — do survive.
Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, United States, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. The state and federal courts located in Travis County, Texas have exclusive jurisdiction, except that if you are a consumer resident in the EEA or UK, you may bring proceedings in your country of residence and the mandatory consumer law of that country continues to apply to you.
Before filing anything, please email us. Nearly everything is resolvable by a conversation, and we would rather have that one.
